Bridge Over a Lake

Your journey to healing starts with a single step—you're not alone.

WELCOME

I’m so glad you’re here. I invite you into a calm, comfortable space—a place where you can exhale, feel seen and heard, and begin to explore whatever life is placing on your path right now. Whether you're facing difficult decisions, moments of uncertainty, or seeking to reconnect with yourself, this is a safe, compassionate environment to begin that journey.

My goal is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your strengths, gain fresh perspective, and find meaningful ways to navigate life’s complexities. Together, we may gently examine past experiences, lighten emotional burdens, and create space for healing and renewal—all in ways that align with who you are and the person you are striving to become.

ABOUT

Hi I'm Brenda Peters

I’m a Registered Social Worker and Canadian Certified Counsellor with over 20 years of experience spanning counselling, social work, continuing care and therapeutic recreation. I deliver tailored care that integrates empathy, clinical expertise, and a deep respect for your journey.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Narrative Therapy and thoughtfully integrates a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each individual’s journey. These include Solution-Focused, Emotionally Focused, Cognitive and Dialectical Behaviour Therapies, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate principles from Attachment Theory, Somatic and Trauma-Informed practices, Motivational Interviewing, and Natural Processing. This integrative lens allows me to meet clients where they are—honouring both their lived experiences and the goals they are striving toward.

Ongoing professional development informs my practice, with training in areas such as grief, diversity and inclusion, women’s mental health, aging, trauma, EMDR, relational therapy, and body image. I’m particularly passionate about supporting clients through life transitions—returning to work, adjusting to parenting or aging, coping with loss or a diagnosis, or moving through relationship changes. I consider it a profound privilege to accompany people through moments of growth and transformation.

Community Engagement

As a devoted mother and engaged community member, I’ve contributed to a wide range of school and local initiatives—from fundraising for playgrounds and co-leading a breakfast program for junior and senior high students, to coaching, managing, and organizing youth sports events and tournaments. My commitment to inclusion and mentorship has also guided my volunteer work as a Big Sister for seven years, a Special Olympics volunteer, and a 4H Outdoorsman Leader, all reflecting my deep belief that mental health is nurtured through connection, inclusion, and a sense of belonging within our communities.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe healing happens when we feel truly seen and heard. I create a collaborative, respectful space where your story is honoured and your goals guide our work. Together, we’ll shape a process that feels both supportive and empowering and honours who you are and helps you move with intention toward what matters most.
